I generally only love cold Pastrami sandwiches because I find heating pastrami makes everything salty. Not so at Firehouse! I really love the New York Steamer.... They must use a better quality meat. They have great fresh bread too. The young people working at Firehouse are refreshingly polite with great social skills, which I find very rare We have been back and will continue to do so!

Nice family owned place. Prices are little higher due to California economy. I love these subs and the sauce. If you are going there for quick bite for lunch, I would advice against it. It takes time to make good subs.

Visiting the area for 2 weeks for work. I ate here 3 times. Definitely one of the best tasting, quality customer service, and bang for your buck places within the area. Id definitely come back again. Clean and friendly. Id visit other Firehouse Subs for sure if they are like this one. They got TVs that work too.

One of the best BLTs I have ever had. Completely blows away Subway and Blimpie and is among the best franchised sandwich shops I have been to. Thr bread is high quality, bacon crispy, peppers chopped so they stay with you each bite rather than fall off. The overall presentation was nice, service friendly and restaurant easy to find. Anytime I am in Alameda for work this will be on my lunch spot list!

Vegetarian option is a mushroom Sandwich. I am vegan so asked them to hold all the cheeses and mayo. They wouldn t add extra mushrooms in substitution for the cheese without charging more. But they barely put any in at all. So paid $12 for basically bread, lettuce, and a couple slices of tomato, very little mushrooms. It s annoying when people don t understand there needs to be a normal amount of whatever the main ingredient is in vegan/veg food. If you re going to charge the same for a meat sandwich at least put the same amount of mushrooms in there. NOT mostly lettuce and charge $12!

Ordered the medium smokehouse beef. Nothing fancy. Bread is fresh but definitely not worth the $10 price tag. Better off just going to Togos at least there youll have money left over to buy chips and a drink.

Decided to check out this spot. I gotta admit it has very cool theme (as my son loves fire trucks!) But I went with the hook and ladder and it was great. Food was good, price was good, staff was friend and service was fast. Place was clean and spacious. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.

I misunderstood the part where a portion of the sub sales goes to 1st responders. I was asked if I want to round up to support the 1st responders after my total for the subs. I bought 3 medium sandwiches, and it cost me $41 and some change. If the sandwiches were stellar......NO PROBLEM. If some proceeds went from sandwich sales to 1st responders......maybe I would go back in a pinch, just to feel good about supporting the good folks at the Fire Department. The sandwiches there however, are worth maybe about half what they charge for them at best. Dont mistake me for a cheapskate. I happily pay $16 per sandwich at Stars down the street, and would pay more if they raise the price. Because the Star Sandwich is worth it. Bottom line is a Firehouse sub is unworthy of the price tag. Go to Togos instead.

Went to this location for the first time and loved it! The prices are reasonable and they support firefighters! The staff is very attentive, friendly and eager to help. Will definitely come back whenever I need my firehouse fix! The meatball sub is to die for and the little pickle slices! They also have the Coca Cola free style machine that Im obsessed with.
